INSTALLATION FOR THE CARNIVAL OF THE BLÉRÉ/VAL DE CHER COMMUNITY OF TOWNS :
LARGE SIZE PHOTOGRAPHIC PRINTS ON VINYL BACKING.
The Touraine in France, like many other European regions, has a rich musical past thanks to its orchestres d'harmonies. Almost every village had its brass band. Today a few orchestras still remain (not without challenges) to carry on the tradition as well as to explore new musical forms while renewing their repertoire. These orchestras also serve to re-enforce social cohesiveness, bringing together young and old, men and women from diverse classes and origins, all united by their passion for music.
For its carnival the Bléré/Val de Cher community of towns commissioned Jacques Moury Beauchamp to produce a photo exhibit of local brass bands. A collection of vintage documents made it possible to select 7 images which were then digitalized, retouched and printed on 5' by 6' vinyl backing. One additional color image was especially created for the occasion
